Full Wash and Decontamination

Before any coating goes on, the paint has to be completely clean. Mitch carries out a full hand wash, iron fallout removal and clay bar decontamination to strip bonded road grime, brake dust and industrial fallout off the surface. Coating over contamination is a shortcut Mitch does not take.

Paint Correction (Where Required)

Most ceramic coating jobs take between 6 and 12 hours depending on the package and the state of the paint going in. The Elite Armor package with full paint correction takes the longest. Mitch will give you a realistic time estimate when he quotes your specific vehicle.
A professionally applied ceramic coating typically lasts between 2 and 5 years depending on the grade of product used, how the vehicle is maintained and how much exposure it gets. Regular maintenance washes with a pH-neutral shampoo extend the life significantly. Spray waxes and harsh detergents will degrade it faster.
For the first 7 days after application, the car needs to stay dry and out of direct sunlight where possible while the coating fully cures. After that, regular washes with a pH-neutral car shampoo are all you need to maintain it. Avoid automatic car washes with brushes, as these introduce new swirl marks on top of the coating.
